1K Father Campaign

Every child deserves meaningful time with their father. Every father deserves the right to be more than a paycheck.

What is the 1K Father Campaign?

The 1K Father Campaign is a statewide movement to bring awareness to Tennessee’s inequitable child custody laws. Current laws often reduce fathers to financial contributors rather than full, engaged parents. Fathers First is uniting 1,000 fathers and supporters to advocate for fair custody laws while also providing resources, education, and support.

Why This Matters

What the Data Says

  • Children with engaged fathers are 2x more likely to excel in school.

  • Father involvement reduces risk of behavioral issues by up to 75%.

  • Children in shared custody arrangements report higher life satisfaction than those in single-parent custody.

Fathers are more than paychecks. They are nurturers, mentors, protectors, and role models. Tennessee’s custody laws too often limit the ability of fathers to spend meaningful time with their children. Changing this isn’t just about fairness—it’s about building stronger families and stronger communities.
